When considering the right power wheelchair base for you or a loved one, it is important to consider where the power wheelchair will be used, the layout of the home, and if the power chair will be transported in a vehicle.

Front-Wheel Drive (FWD)

Drive wheels are at the front of the power wheelchair and there are two caster wheels at the rear.

Mid-wheel drive (MWD)

Drive wheels are directly under the user, and there are four caster wheels on the ground- two in front and two behind the drive wheels.

Rear-wheel drive (RWD)

Drive wheels are at the rear of the power wheelchair and there are two caster wheels at the front.
